pmux manages Prismattyc sessions from a terminal or script. Use pmux --help, pmux mail --help, and man pmux for the complete installed reference.
Sessions and identity
pmux up
pmux new editor --no-attach
pmux ls
pmux attach editor
pmux whoami
pmux doctor editor
new creates a session. attach connects a client. ls reports live session, window, and pane IDs. Inside a pane, whoami reports that pane's identity and bound agent name. IDs can change after a server restart; read them again before scripting a target.
Mail: send, claim, and commit
Mail is a stored message, not keyboard input. Send to the recipient's bound agent name or alias:
pmux mail send reviewer --summary "Review ready" --body "The changes are ready."
pmux mail inbox
pmux mail claim --json
pmux mail commit LETTER_ID
Replace LETTER_ID with an ID returned by claim. Claiming holds the letter; committing acknowledges it and removes it. pmux mail release LETTER_ID returns a held letter to the open queue. pmux mail watch --timeout 30 waits for mail; it does not claim it.
For scripts outside the recipient's pane, use an explicit identity: pmux mail --as reviewer inbox. Mail delivery does not start or wake the recipient's agent process.
Send keys or write text
First read the pane ID from pmux ls. Replace PANE_ID below with that value.
pmux send PANE_ID 'text to type' --literal
pmux send PANE_ID --enter
pmux pane-write PANE_ID --text 'text for the agent' --submit auto --json
pmux save-buffer PANE_ID - --history
send delivers terminal keys. pane-write delivers literal text to one pane and can use the detected agent's submit sequence. An accepted receipt means input was queued, not that the recipient read or acted on it. Check the pane output or wait for a reply. Busy or dirty input can be refused; investigate before taking over a pane.
Spaces and layouts
pmux space ls
pmux space create project
pmux space save project
pmux space open project --no-run
pmux arrange editor grid
See Spaces, panes, and layouts for ownership and restoration behavior.
Restart and inspect versions
pmux versions
pmux restart --plan
pmux restart --host
pmux restart --mcp
pmux restart --daemon
Host restart reconnects saved managed views and may defer when it cannot restore a window safely. MCP restart handles supervised adapters. Daemon restart defers while sessions exist. Inspect the receipt and pmux versions to see what changed.
pmux stop editor ends that session's programs. A bare pmux stop stops the whole server. Neither is a substitute for detaching.
