Provenance
Prismattyc keeps faith with sixty years of terminal lineage — and adds what the hardware never had.
1960s
Unix was first operated from teleprinters. The hardware is gone; the name stayed as the terminal abstraction — line discipline, echo, job control.
1978
DEC's CRT family set the escape sequences every emulator still speaks. ESC [ 31 m makes text red, then and now.
2026
Software emulation of both, plus what they never had: sessions that outlive viewers, saved spaces, and agent mail in the mux.
Capabilities
pmuxd owns the PTYs and all session state. Clients come and go; your programs don't notice.
pmux attach
Pane children keep running when a viewer detaches. Come back tomorrow — or from another machine's seat — and pick up where you left off.
pmux mail
Sessions are mailboxes. Send, claim, and commit letters between agents; the doorbell rings the recipient's pane until claimed.
pmux space
Snapshot several sessions — live cwd and agent bindings included — to a file, and restore the whole workspace in one command.

Pan history with the wheel, jump to oldest, and search live with case-insensitive matching and n/m match counts in the prompt.
prismattyc-host
A native OS window with opt-in OpenType ligatures, a command palette, pane zoom, and image paste — no outer terminal required.
TERM=prismattyc-kitty
A bundled terminfo database and a forced child environment: truecolor by default, no inherited color suppressors, no stale keys.

The maker
Prismattyc is designed, built, and dogfooded daily by Moonbase2090. The lineage runs teleprinter → VT100 → software — the hardware changed twice, the protocol never did, and this project keeps faith with it.
